After a very soggy round last Saturday there was much debate after the game about whether you can pick your ball, then clean it of mud if you ball has plugged off fairway.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding is "When the ball is plugged off fairway you can Lift the ball, then Clean the ball of mud, then you should drop it from shoulder height approximately where it landed".

I only wanted to clear this up so we are all playing from the same rules.

Yep our winter rules state this. Not in summer though unless anyone knows better.
:)

Thank you Matt.

Jon Williams, Kevin Dray I hope you have noted. I also had this confirmed as the local rule from our very own John Motson of golf,  Mr Crispin  Roche  : )
