Trent Park Golf Club

Serving its members since 1974

What are the responsibilities of the men and woman captains and their committee of Trent park?

Would like to ask, as we're coming to the end of one captaincy and the beginning of a new one before the AGM if we can have some feed back to this question thank you.

Hi 1. is to take complaints 2. Is to give your spair time to complaints 3. To enjoy the complaints 4. And to enjoy our golf with complaints ringing in our ear while we play. 5 and to help any nice polite golfer. 6. To fix draws.7. To get things wrong now and again. 8. To run comps. 9. ?. 10. And to spend 3hours once a week doing h/caps. A Year well spent keeping over a hundred members happy. No9 player of the year up dates.

Have the handicaps been updated since last week yet?

Don't want to be playing against the Night Owls on the wrong handicaps do we?

Come on the Sunday sweep!!!!

Hi Mr Bo jangles thanks for clearing that up if I'd known it was that easy I'd have thought about joining the committee, but seriously are the committee as a whole supposed to help each other out if something is in question or some part  needs looking at, I do know and understand and am grateful for all the work that is done to keep it running as smooth as possible and i also know that it is all done using your own time and sometimes costs it was'nt a dig at anyone just an honest question to see if anyone had some suggestions as to maybe help out when things get a bit tight for time and as rico so rightly said come on the mighty sweep

Good question Danny.

As the Club captain for next season, I am giving this some serious consideration and will formally publish the roles and responsibilities for the new committee to the members once we have a new committee elected at the AGM.

To me, I believe that the Club captains and the Committees roles are as the motto under the TPGC logo, which is "to serve its members".

In that, the Committee under a democratic voting procedure will discuss ideas from its members and vote accordingly to accept them or not.  To serve on the committee is a responsibility as golf means so much to its members. We the Committee will and have run competitions at weekends and twice during the week to the best of our ability (and for no pay). We don't always get it right, but I can assure you the committee has integrity in all decisions.

The Men's Club captain will chair monthly meetings and work with the Committee, be involved in all aspects of running the club with the committee from memberships, competitions, financial side, and social events etc.

The Ladies captains role is for Mandy and Breda to answer. But we will support them as best we can in growing the Ladies section of the club.

I am looking for any members who may like to join me and the committee for next season. It's not a closed shop and fresh ideas will always be welcomed.

Further to Dave's answer, I believe the Lady Captain's role is to run and grow the ladies's section in co-operation with the Club Captain and Committee and in best interests of the club as a whole.

Hi

I was thinking of joining the committee next year or at least putting my name forward but now i have changed my views due to the CLUBS CAPTAINS comment to me.

Now I shall just pay and play my golf without listen to the crap that sometimes comes with being a member at Trent Park and thank god for the SUNDAY SWEEP and NIGHT OWELS i would of taken my golf else were. They are the only reasons i'm still there.

Sweep Captain

Nick what did the Club Captain say to you?

I can't believe it was so bad that you would want to leave Trent Park Golf Club?

SaS

Great fourball match today, Mr Williams played some outstanding golf on the front nine. Paul his partner in crime, saved them on the back nine, just when Nick and I where starting to apply some pressure, big day tomorrow with all to play for.

Come on the Sweep!!!!!!

Nikos, I can't speak for Nero, but I am sure whatever he said was a blurt and not really meant. I know he also phoned you to apologize which I hope you can except.

As for joining the committee, next season is another year, and, all club members with strong opinions and of fair mind would be welcomed to join. By being on the committee you can have a great influence on how the club is run.

The sportsmanship shown at the SAS this weekend by all players was fantastic and I especially liked the photograph of you with the Night Owls winning team - it said it all.

Sweep Captain

Once again a conversation between to people has gone public .would like to know what was said on both sides before people take oneside or the other. Getting tired of everything at club at the minute.maybe sweep and night owles should run it next year.
Hi

It was between me and the Captain of the the club, and i feel it was bad enough to mention.
What is the web site for, if you can't comment on whats happened then get rid of it.

Maybe we should run the club as the Sas was a great day and everyone got on.
What people need to understand is its a game of golf and should be fun not he done this or she done that.

Members pay there money towards the club so they expect things should be done or be told why things aren't.
