Has anyone seen my golf ball?
Winter has arrived and although not a lot of golf has been played we have managed to get through a few rounds of the knockout comps. Unfortunately this weekends Valentines Day Shield (Men v Ladies) will have to be rearranged at a later date. As the weather has effected the singles ko round this weekend, please keep a look out on web site and notice board for the rearranged dates these will be a played.
The committee has been busy, collecting membership fees and entering TPGC into a wide selection of inter club competitions for all our members. A Full list will be published shortly, but they will include: Frank Rouse Trophy, a comp which is played off of scratch; Siemens Bowl for players handicapped between 19 and 28 (36) for ladies; Clapham Common Shield with max handicap 18 and Middlesex sixes with max handicap of 20. The Ladies inter club comps include the Hawtree. Full details of dates and applications to play will be posted on this site nearer the time of the comps.
I must remind all players of our Code of Conduct which can be found in the clubs Constitution document. I am talking about the integrity, honesty, etiquette on and off the golf course, respect to fellow players and sportsmanship all these are good values we should all follow.
The code of conduct is important and the Committee expects its members to follow these.
We have had complaints about certain members' slow play. This is a problem for most clubs but we will try to address this in the following way. Firstly, we will be discussing with Jeremy how we can give more power to the marshals of the course; getting them to ask slow players to let faster groups through. We will also ask members who are effected by slow players; and ones that don't let them through if they are holding them up, to make a written complaint to the committee. It is only then, that the committee can take action.
I would appreciate any thoughts you may have on this issue.
Looking forward to the weather improving and getting back out on the course and if you're around, see you Monday nights.
Great discounts offered on individual and group lessons for TPGC members only. Beginners and low handicaps welcome.
