Serving its members since 1974

The Course is open tommorow but still pretty wet and we have 3 temporary greens on 10, 13 and 17.

Drive the members away we only accumulate to 5% of the total rounds played. Horse caca!!!!!!!
What about all those members who are out when the public isn't? Let them do the maths, on average we have guaranteed 28 players who play across golf on Saturdays and Sundays. Those players come crom the Ladies, Night Owls and Sunday Sweep that works out to be just under £35k.
The management can afford to lose it obviously. I do not think having fhe pitches are a bad idea, I reckon it will add revenue and rejuvenate the whole of the complex on a whole, if the money is ploughed back in.
Slow play is the cancer the runs through the veins of golf. How do you improve pace of play? I dont know. I know one thing, our starters and marshals are not strong enough to deal with the public or members.
They do not have the authority to be able to deal with slow play. It usually starts from the first tee.

Yes the club Captain
I can only apologise on the Clubs behalf that Trent park golf club is the way it is. There are a number of reasons. I have tried my best to voice mine and the members opionion on the way we would like the club and course but to no avail . What we can do as members is to turn up and hope to have an enjoyable round of golf with friends as thats all we ask but im afraid our say does'nt travel very far. Lets enjoy Trent Park for now and let the management deal with the grief to come. Ps still haven't resigned lol

Honestly no, and the reason is that the people who do make comments that upset certain people will be banned or just not published others try to defend whats happening so as not to rock the boat and because there hoping that the course will return to the way it was run, which was to have the members and joe publics opinions heard and understood. Its true the weather has been terrible and has had an effect on the course the the problems are not all down to slow play but just an excuse i think by management to hide the fact that there is more interest and money in five aside football pitches

Members of 20 plus years????
How about members who have been at the club since its opening day???
No one has the decency to offer the members an explanation. I still believe that the weather has played its part in why the course has not been in tip top shape as it has been in previous years. But your right the general up keep has been poor. Litter all over the course due to bins that have been overflowing, green staff have left and not been replaced, financial reasons?A half way house that has not been opened for reasons we do not why.
A club house that has been closed while the range and shop are open for business. Embarrassingly the public having to relief themselves in bushes.
Do you think anyone is going to read this

I think if we keep writing messages then someone who can give the members answers as to why long term members of 20 years plus are finding the changes in the last year and a half hard to see as an improvement to the course and also why joe publics opinion is more valued than those members who pay and play most weeks of the year

Danny your wasting your time. I think its only you and me on this site. No one has anything constructive to write about our club, a club that is going up the swany.

Captain Francesco Schettino thanks for the information.
You resigned yet? Only joking you're doing a grand job.
If youp are reading this and you have time check out Trent Parks Facebook page. There's lots of interesting information on there concerning the football pitches and an ex Captains view on the pros and cons of the course and its facilities.
Word is, losing members seems to be the way forward at Trent. Potentially 20 + hard core members could all be leaving. Pushed into seeking a new course to play. Sad state of affairs really, these golfers will be welcomed with arms wide open as public or potential members. Accumulation of many reasons... 20 + apparently.
One courses gain anothers loss.
Pity,it could have been ...........
