Update on the plans to redevelop of our golf course

There have been many rumours flying around the club, so I decided to ask Jeremy a few questions to see where we are in respect to the planned 5 a side football pitch application and where it leaves the club.

In short, we can be assured that Jeremy has the interest of our club and has asked us his opinions on suggested course layout to accommodate the football pitches. Re timing, nothing is going to happen before Feb 2013 earliest.

If you would like to have your say please leave…

Captains triumphant after close Winter Mixed Greensomes match

What a way for me and Dave to finish our year of captaincy with a win in the Mixed Winter Greensomes this Sunday. It was a really close call, with our net 68 just beating runners up Diane McLoughin and Paul Fanning who scored net 69. It was a lovely sunny day and everyone enjoyed the game. Well done to the rest of the field: Andrea and Ken; Billie and Kevin; Bernadette and Ricky; Jane and Tony; Imen and Charles. Mixed greensomes is a great format and we look forward to the Summer competition…

Captains' Victory in Winter Mixed Greensomes

Congratulations to our Captains - Mandy Wimsett and Dave Berkoff - for winning this year's Winter Mixed Greensomes with a splendid nett 68.  It was a good field of players, and all the scores were very tight, but Dave and Mandy just edged to victory. Defending champions Diane McLoughlin and Paul Fanning were nudged into second place, and a good day was had by all.  The next mixed competition will be the Valentine's Shield in February.

Luke wins the Mens Summer Singles Final

Our congratulations go to Luke Stephanides who beat Stefan Antoniou in the Mens Summer Singles Final which was played on sunday.

By accounts, the match was played to a really high standard by both players, and it was unfortunate we had to have a loser. Stefan was leading most of the day and was playing some amazing golf (quote by Luke) including some monster putts. But Luke scored an amazing 71 on the 2nd round to win the match on the last hole.

My apologise to both players…
